Ipswich Town, Derby County and Portsmouth target versatile 12-goal/assist forward

Ipswich Town, Derby County and Portsmouth are all interested in Jamal Lowe as his Bournemouth deal winds down, TBR Football has claimed.

Lowe has spent this season on loan at Swansea City but with his Bournemouth deal expiring and the Swans struggling to put together an offer, the likes of Ipswich Town, Derby County and Portsmouth are circling.

The 29-year-old has managed nine goals and three assists in 34 Championship games over the 2023/24 campaign and as a potential free agent, he’s got plenty of summer suitors.

TBR Football reports that Championship sides Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Watford are all keeping an eye on his situation.

Not only that, but League One automatic promotion winners Portsmouth – who Lowe previously played for – and Derby County are also sizing him up as a possible signing.

The Jamaica international can play anywhere across the front three and has been an established player at Championship level over the years. In total, he’s managed 39 goals and 12 assists in 185 second-tier games.

Who is this?

A move awaits

While it remains to be seen just where Lowe ends up, it looks as though he’ll certainly be on the move this summer. He doesn’t have a place in Bournemouth’s plans, so a switch will benefit him.

And, as a transfer beckons, the versatile attacker certainly won’t be short of options.

Ipswich Town are yet to see their automatic promotion fate decided while Norwich City look set to fight it out in the play-offs. But other rumoured suitors Derby County, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Millwall, and Watford are all guaranteed to be playing Championship level next season.

It’s a level Lowe is more than familiar with and has shown he can be a reliable performer at, so no wonder he’s attracting early interest.

Those keen will be hopeful of getting deals done early in the summer to best prepare for the new season and as his Bournemouth release awaits, Lowe could be a player who lands a new club pretty early into the transfer window.
