‘Contender’ – Swansea City could bring back Premier League loan man, report suggests

Swansea City loanee Jamal Lowe is a ‘contender’ to return next season, as detailed in a report by BBC Sport.

Swansea City landed the attacker on a temporary basis last summer from AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Lowe, 29, has since made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, chipping in with eight goals and three assists.

According to BBC Sport, he seems the most likely loan player with the Swans to link back up with them if their ‘finances’ allow it.

Swansea City brought back Lowe at the start of this campaign to bolster their attacking options under former manager Michael Duff after his arrival from Barnsley.

He played for the Welsh outfit back in 2020 and fired 14 goals that year.

Getting him back would be a big boost ahead of next term as ex-Notts County man Luke Williams prepares to bring in some reinforcements in the upcoming window.

His chances of breaking into the Cherries’ first-team in the Premier League are slim due to the options that they have in his position so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him depart permanently.

The forward signed for Portsmouth in 2017 from Hampton & Richmond Borough in non-league and found the net on 29 occasions for the Hampshire club, helping them gain promotion from League Two under Paul Cook during his time there.

Wigan Athletic then snapped him up and he has since had stints with the likes of Swansea City, Bournemouth and QPR.

The Swans are back in action this weekend with an away trip to relegation threatened Huddersfield Town.
