West Brom have been credited with an interest in Huddersfield Town midfielder Brahima Diarra, as per a report by Sudinfo.

West Brom have been linked with the 20-year-old along with fellow Championship sides Leicester City and Hull City.

Diarra, who is a Mali youth international, is out of contract at the end of the season and is due to become available as things stand.

Here is a look at three players the Baggies should look at instead of him…

Alan Browne

His deal at Preston North End expires this summer and he is due to become a free agent if nothing changes. The 29-year-old would boost West Brom’s midfield department ahead of the next campaign.

Browne, who has 35 caps under his belt for Republic of Ireland, joined the Lilywhites back in 2013 from Cork City as a youngster. He has since gone on to make 410 appearances for the Lancashire outfit in all competitions, scoring 46 goals, but his future is up in the air at Deepdale right now.

Who is this?

Joe Rothwell

He is currently on loan at Southampton from AFC Bournemouth but is due to return to his parent club when this term is over. The Mancunian could be worth a look by the Baggies with it unknown where he will be playing his football next season.

Rothwell played for Blackburn Rovers from 2018 to 2022 before the Cherries swooped to sign him in the Premier League. His focus right now is on helping the Saints gain promotion to the top flight under Russell Martin after joining them on a temporary basis in January.

Connor Barron

If West Brom want to go for a more youthful option in the middle of the park, Aberdeen’s Barron could be their main. The 21-year-old deal with the Dons runs out soon and it remains to be seen if he will stay put.

Swansea City are interested in landing him, as per a report by WalesOnline. However, Carlos Corberan’s side should monitor developments just in case.
