They are five points behind their upcoming opponents after their 4-1 win at home to Huddersfield Town last time out. Ryan Lowe’s side also have a game in hand.

Norwich City threw away a 2-0 lead away at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night. Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz scored their goals in South Yorkshire.

David Wagner’s side are five points inside the top six with four fixtures left to play. They drew 0-0 with Preston earlier this season.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Harry Mail

“This is a big game in the race for the play-offs. Preston North End need to win it if they are to sneak into the top six.

“The Lilywhites would go two points behind Norwich City with a win and have a game in hand. Ryan Lowe’s side will be in confident mood after beating Huddersfield Town 4-1 last time out.

“The Canaries are a strong side and have been in decent form recently. They just need to avoid defeat at Deepdale and they should have enough to cement their place in the play-offs.

“Their collapse at Sheffield Wednesday shows that they can be vulnerable though. I can see this one being a draw in Lancashire.”

Who is this?

James Ray

Preston and Norwich are embroiled in the play-off fight and the outcome of this could be important. It’s a tough one to call too.

“Both have been in decent form of late but with a 0-0 draw between these two earlier in the season, I’m not sure anything will split the two. I’d lead towards a home win given Preston’s decent record and Deepdale and Norwich City’s poor run on the road.

“However, I’ll go for a 1-1 draw. That result won’t be ideal for either.”
