Portsmouth prepare to host Paul Warne’s Derby County off the back of a 3-1 victory away from home over Wycombe Wanderers, stretching their unbeaten run to 13 matches. A Colby Bishop brace was added to by Christian Saydee’s strike to cancel out Matt Butcher’s earlier equaliser.

Derby County head to Fratton Park following a crucial 1-0 victory over Blackpool. Ebou Adams’ spectacular first-half effort proved the difference as the Rams took advantage of those below them in the table dropping points.

Now, ahead of tonight’s clash, here are five players who could dictate Portsmouth vs Derby County

Colby Bishop

Fresh from his double against the Chairboys, if Bishop is on form against the Rams he is bound to cause a nuisance.

The striker has 18 goals to his name in League One this season, just three behind the current top scorer for the division Alfie May.

Ebou Adams

Adams is set to be locked in an intense midfield battle this evening.

He is integral to how Derby County play thanks to his key contributions both defensively and offensively. Adams is a player that Pompey must restrict if they are to take the spoils over Warne’s side.

Who is this?

Marlon Pack

Part of the aforementioned midfield battle is Pack, who has been excellent for Portsmouth this season and has the ability to turn games on their head for John Mousinho’s men.

With three goals and eight assists so far, he will be hoping to add to his tally tonight.

Eiran Cashin

Cashin has been a standout player yet again for the Rams this season and his recent contract extension is a massive boost for the club. He has formed a fantastic partnership with Curtis Nelson at the back.

He will likely be kept busy against Pompey, and another top performance will be required if the visitors are to be successful.

Conor Shaughnessy

At the back for the hosts, Shaughnessy has played a massive part in Mousinho’s side being where they are in the table.

The 27-year-old is a real force in the air and his long balls can be key in getting Pompey up the pitch quickly.
