Hull City open to permanent move for loan man, due to return to parent club this summer

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has said the club are interested in a permanent move for Standard Liege loan man Noah Ohio this summer.

Hull City landed the attacker on a temporary basis running until the end of the season in the January transfer window.

Ohio, 21, has since scored once in five appearances for the Tigers since his winter switch.

When asked whether the Championship play-off hopefuls are keen on a potential long-term swoop for him, Rosenior said, as per a report by HullLive: “One hundred per cent.

We’ve got to see how we (develop him). We give him so much information in terms of the way that we play, where players need to stand on the throw-in, what the different angles of press that they need to make in the game.”

Who is this?

Hull City stance outlined

Ohio gives Hull something different up front and injects pace and power into their team.

He is young still and has a lot of potential. The forward scored the winner away at Rotherham United back in February and made his first start last time out at home to Stoke City.

However, the Holland youth international is still quite raw and needs to work on his fitness which will come with games.

Ohio is under contract at Standard Liege until June 2026 meaning they are under no pressure to sell him in the next transfer window.

He has been on the books at Manchester United, Manchester City and RB Leipzig in the past.

The youngster signed for Standard Liege in 2022 and fired five goals in 29 matches for the Belgian top flight outfit in the last campaign. He then scored once in 16 during the first-half of this term.

Hull are sat in 9th place in the table after their disappointing 2-0 loss to Stoke on Good Friday.

They are six points off the top six now with eight fixtures left to play and still have a game in hand on Norwich City in 6th though.

The Tigers are back in action with an away trip to Elland Road this evening to take on automatic promotion chasing Leeds United.

Rosenior has a decision to make as to who leads the line and has other options as well as Ohio in Aaron Connolly and Billy Sharp.
