Bristol City come into this weekend’s clash with Leicester City following a 2-0 defeat away from home against West Brom prior to the international break. Tom Fellows and Jed Wallace were the goalscorers on the day as the Robins fell to their fifth defeat in six matches.

They currently sit 14th in the table with another Championship campaign set to follow next season.

Leicester City also lost their last encounter, albeit against Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final, suffering a 4-2 defeat after two late goals from the Blues. The Foxes had only won two of their last five in the league beforehand, with Enzo Maresca’s side currently sat 2nd with nine games to go.

Now, ahead of this afternoon’s clash, here are five players who could dictate Bristol City vs Leicester City

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The Leicester academy graduate has enjoyed a stellar season in the second tier, registering 10 goals and 12 assists in 36 league appearances from the middle of the park.

One of the Foxes’ key assets, Dewsbury-Hall is perhaps the most important player for the Robins to try and keep quiet this afternoon.

Jason Knight

Knight has proven to be a fantastic pick-up from Derby County in the summer. The midfielder has been excellent for Bristol City this campaign and has firmly cemented himself as a regular member of the starting XI.

Over 44 appearances in all competitions, the young Irishman has scored seven goals and provided a further four assists. He could prove crucial to any success his side may taste against Leicester City here.

Wilfried Ndidi

Ndidi was once one of the club’s standout Premier League stars. He has been plagued with injury this season, but is now back in the fold and looking to make his mark.

Next to Dewsbury-Hall, the Nigeria international adds steel to Maresca’s midfield and will have a big say in attempting to break up any attack this weekend’s opponents look to create.

Who is this?

Max O’Leary

As has been the case for many goalkeepers that have faced the Foxes this season, O’Leary will likely be one of the most important players on the pitch for Liam Manning’s men.

The 27-year-old has played every minute of Bristol City’s Championship schedule so far this season. In that time, he’s kept eight clean sheets and conceded 45 goals.

Jannik Vestergaard

Denmark international Vestergaard has been the main man at the back this season for Leicester City, featuring 35 times and hitting the back of the net twice.

He is bound to frustrate the Robins’ frontline if he is on top form. He’s no stranger to carrying the ball forward in a bid to progress either.
