‘Starting to panic’ – Norwich City vs Plymouth Argyle prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Norwich City vs Plymouth Argyle prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Friday.

Norwich City occupy 6th place in the Championship as they gear up for the visit of Plymouth Argyle. They have Hull City and Coventry City breathing down their neck in the play-off race.

The Canaries won 3-0 away at Stoke City in their last game before the international break. David Wagner’s men sit three points inside the top six.

As for Plymouth Argyle, they have been sucked into a relegation battle. Ian Foster’s men find themselves 18th in the table.

They are only two points above the drop zone. The Pilgrims have eight fixtures left of the season as they look to avoid an immediate return to League One.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Norwich City are in confident mood and will see this as a game they should win, especially with a trip to Leicester City coming up on Monday.

The Canaries’ fate is in their own hands now with eight games left to play. Hull City have a game in-hand on them but they have a much better goal difference.

Plymouth Argyle could drop out of the Championship if they can’t turn their fortunes around. Ian Foster has struggled for results since taking over from Steven Schumacher.

The Pilgrims don’t get many results away from home and I think they’ll fall to another loss at Carrow Road.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“You just get the feeling that those at Plymouth Argyle will be starting to panic. They’ve been on a concerning slide towards the relegation zone and they desperately need to find form.

“Foster and co must remain calm though. This side have played some good stuff this season, so they have to do all they can to return to those ways and pick up some results as the end of the campaign nears.

“For Norwich City though, this is a game they should be taking maximum points from. Plymouth struggle on the road and Carrow Road is a tough place to go.

“I’ll say this ends in a pretty routine home win for the Canaries.”
