‘Might slip up here’ – Millwall vs West Brom prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Millwall vs West Brom prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Friday.

Millwall head into their upcoming Championship clash with West Brom off the back of their 2-0 away loss at Leeds United last time out. That was Neil Harris’ first loss since returning to The Den.

The Lions are sat in 16th place in the table. They are four points above the relegation zone with eight games left to play and plenty still at stake.

As for West Brom, they are eyeing promotion to the Premier League. They are positioned in 5th place inside the play-offs, where they have remained for much of this season.

The Baggies won 2-0 at home to Bristol City in their last outing before the international break. Tom Fellows and Jed Wallace were on the scoresheet in another valuable win for Carlos Corberan and co.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Harry Mail

Millwall have turned a corner since Neil Harris’ return but still need to get some more results to ensure their Championship survival.

They will be tricky opponents for West Brom and have won their last two home games on the spin against Watford and Birmingham City 1-0.

The Baggies are in strong form though and will fancy their chances of picking up another win at The Den here. Carlos Corberan’s men are carrying some decent momentum and should have enough quality to finish in the top six.

However, they might slip up here and I’m going for a draw.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“I think this one ends level. West Brom will be determined to claim all three points but with how Harris has galvanised the Millwall side, I think they’ll pick up a valuable point in this one.

“The Baggies certainly have the quality to get the win but they are prone to a draw on the road. The Den is going to be a tough place to go and get a victory too, so the spoils might be shared.

“I’ll say a competitive game ends 1-1 on Friday.”
