‘A real chance’ – Lincoln City vs Leyton Orient prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Lincoln City vs Leyton Orient prediction ahead of the League One clash on Friday.

Lincoln City have catapulted themselves into play-off contention over recent weeks. The Sincil Bank outfit find themselves sat in 8th place in the table.

The Imps are only two points off 6th place Oxford United. They have seven games left of this season to play.

As for Leyton Orient, they also hold an outside shot of sneaking into the top six in League One. The O’s are five points off as the business end of the season approaches.

They won 1-0 away at Stevenage last time out before the international. Max Sanders was on the scoresheet for them, helping Richie Wellens and co claim another valuable victory.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Lincoln City aren’t just winning games at the moment, they are battering teams. They have scored 16 goals in their last three matches.

The Imps have a real chance of promotion if they can keep their momentum going. The international break came at an annoying time for them.

Leyton Orient will be tricky opponents for Michael Skubala’s side. If they won at the LNER Stadium, they would go level on points with them.

However, despite being in confident mood, this will be a really tough clash for the visitors and I think they may just fall short.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“This is a really intriguing tie. Both these two have emerged as surprise late contenders for a play-off spot amid impressive runs of form, but it’s Lincoln City who are really catching the eye.

“They’ve been absolutely rampant in recent weeks, so an impressive Leyton Orient side will be in for a tough test.

“The O’s are definitely good enough to get something from this but having shown such ruthlessness in recent games, it’s hard not to go with the Imps for this one. I’ll go for a 2-0 home win in a bit of a tighter game than Lincoln have become used to of late.”
