Midfielder spotted back in Plymouth Argyle training ahead of Norwich City clash

Plymouth Argyle midfielder Adam Forshaw has been pictured back with the training squad after missing the Preston North End game before the international break.

Plymouth Argyle added the experienced Forshaw to their ranks in January, bringing him in from Norwich City. He’s often started for the Pilgrims when available too, playing six times for the side so far.

However, after a spell out over February, the 32-year-old was absent again as Ian Foster’s side lost 1-0 to Preston North End in the last Championship game prior to the international break.

He missed the game through a pulled hamstring, but it seems he’s back with the group as usual ahead of the return to action against previous club Norwich.

Visiting Japanese fan Tatsuki Aki shared on X (as relayed by PlymouthLive) an image with the training players, with Forshaw pictured among them. All being well, he could be on course to make a return to the side at Carrow Road on Good Friday.

Who is this?

Foster’s midfield options

Forshaw has started more often than not when he’s been fit, so if deemed ready to go, he could come straight back into the XI. If not, it will be intriguing to see just who lines up with the middle of the park for Plymouth Argyle.

Adam Randell and Jordan Houghton started in his absence against Preston while Callum Wright was on the bench. Darko Gyabi also missed the game through injury, so time will tell if he’s involved this time around.

Regardless of who starts in the middle of the park, Plymouth Argyle know they have to return to form soon. A poor run over recent months has seen them slide into relegation contention.

The Pilgrims sit 18th in the Championship table with eight games left. Two points separate them and Huddersfield Town in 22nd place as it stands.
