Bolton Wanderers man returns from loan spell away, contract up this summer

Bolton Wanderers defender Lamine Toure has returned from his loan at Bamber Bridge, as detailed on the official club website.

Bolton Wanderers loaned the youngster to the non-league side back in December to get some experience under his belt.

Toure, 20, has now returned to the League One promotion hopefuls.

The Trotters’ website reports he could be back for the B team today against Salford City.

Bolton have a decision on what to do with Toure next as they weigh up what is best for his development.

His contract with the North West outfit expires this summer but they hold an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Toure has risen up through the academy ranks of the Trotters and has represented them at various different youth levels.

The centre-back penned his first professional deal back in 2022 and made his debut a couple of months later in a Carabao Cup clash against Salford. That is his only first-team appearance to date for Ian Evatt’s side.

He was loaned out for the first time in the last campaign when Lancaster City came calling and went on to play three times for the Northern Premier League outfit.

Bolton then gave him the green light to head out the exit door again when Bamber Bridge swooped in earlier this winter.

The Trotters are hoping to claw themselves out of the third tier this term and are currently sat in 3rd place.

They are four points behind Derby County in 2nd and have a game in-hand. The Rams lost 1-0 away at Northampton Town last time out.

Evatt’s men didn’t play due to the international break and are back in action on Friday with an away trip to Stevenage. They then face Reading at home on Easter Monday.
