3 players who could exit if Sutton United are relegated to the National League

Sutton United are currently sat in 23rd place in the table as they fight for their Football League status.

Sutton United are inside the League Two drop zone with Forest Green Rovers and are a point from safety.

However, Colchester United have three games in hand above them.

Here is a look at three players who could leave the U’s if they go down to the National League…

Harry Smith

Sutton swooped to sign the striker last year and he has since scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, nine of which have come in the league. He is their top scorer and it would be a surprise to see him drop into non-league.

Smith, 28, is likely to have suitors in the fourth tier again for next term. He has played for Millwall, Northampton Town and Leyton Orient in the past.

Who is this?

Omari Patrick

He helped Carlisle United win promotion to League One last year and scored in the play-off final against Stockport County. However, he left the Cumbrian outfit when his contract expired and subsequently moved down south to join the U’s.

Patrick has been a regular for his current club in this campaign and has made 40 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with six goals. Steve Morison’s side could face a battle to keep hold of him if they are relegated.

Tope Fadahunsi

His deal at Sutton expires at the end of June. The attacker, who is 24-years-old, is due to become a free agent as things stand.

Fadamunsi made the switch to Gander Green Lane back in 2022 after impressing on trial. He has since found the net on four occasions in 33 outings and has been loaned out to Torquay United and Hampton & Richmond Borough.
