Hull City man not part of Rosenior’s plans, set for summer exit

Hull City left-back Brandon Fleming has been told he is not part of manager Liam Rosenior’s future plans, according to Hull Live.

Hull City are targeting a place in the top six come the end of the season. They currently sit in 7th in the table just three points behind Norwich City in 6th.

A huge reason for the Tigers’ successes this campaign under Rosenior has been their number of options in each position. The ability to rotate without having to reduce the quality of the starting eleven is a big bonus.

But with this comes the possibility of players not being happy with playing time or being far down the pecking order. According to Hull Live, Rosenior has told left-back Fleming he is not part of his plans, given the number of names ahead of him.

Ryan Giles, Matty Jacob and James Furlong have been used in rotation, with Fleming limited to just one appearance in all competitions for the Tigers despite starting and ending the season at the MKM Stadium.

He did join Shrewsbury Town in September but returned to his parent club in February, playing 10 games whilst out on loan. Now free to join a new club according to the new report, the 24-year-old will spend the coming months looking for the next step in his career.

The best solution for all

Hull City have many choices at left-back who are at a higher standard to Fleming. Players with valuable Championship experience who can be difference makers in helping them achieve promotion.

At this time, Fleming isn’t even part of the matchday squad for Rosenior’s side and so shows he is not wanted nor needed at Hull City. Therefore, a move elsewhere looks to be the best solution for all parties concerned.

Given he has had three successful loans to League One clubs, another could swoop in to snap him up for a cut price, especially considering his contract is up next summer.
