‘May just fall short’ – Tranmere Rovers vs Crawley Town prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Tranmere Rovers vs Crawley Town prediction ahead of the League Two clash on Saturday.

Tranmere Rovers won 1-0 away at promotion chasing Wrexham last time out. Striker Luke Norris scored the winner at the Racecourse Ground in the first-half.

The Whites are sat in 15th place in the League Two table. They are only seven points off the play-offs.

As for Crawley Town, they managed to get a draw against 2nd position Stockport County in their last League Two outing. Forward Klaidi Lolos bagged a late equaliser.

The Red Devils are 9th and are a point outside the top seven. They also have a game in-hand on AFC Wimbledon and Walsall above them.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Harry Mail

Nigel Adkins has done a great job to steady the ship at Tranmere Rovers this season. They are on a roll right now and will be full of confidence.

The Whites have managed to beat promotion chasing Stockport County, Mansfield Town and Wrexham over recent times and I can see them getting another three points this weekend to keep their momentum going.

Crawley Town are no pushovers and are deservedly sat just outside the play-offs. They are unbeaten in their last three matches.

However, this will be a really tricky test for the Red Devils at Prenton Park and think they may just fall short.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“I can see this being a really close game, and I’m not sure there will be a winner.

Tranmere Rovers are four unbeaten and boast a great record at Prenton Park, but Crawley Town have lost one of their last eight while winning six out of their last nine on the road.

“If I had to pick a winner, I’d lean towards the hosts. Nigel Adkins has done a fantastic job of turning things around at Tranmere, and his opposition manager Scott Lindsey has also worked admirably this season. Ultimately, I think this ends in a draw with both teams on the scoresheet.”
