Fulham and Norwich City loan pair expected to miss Derby County clash for EFL side

Northampton Town are expected to be without Kieron Bowie and Tony Springett for this weekend, as detailed on their official club website.

Northampton Town are back in League One action with a home clash against promotion chasing Derby County.

Bowie and Springett have both received international call-ups by Scotland and Republic of Ireland’s Under-21’s sides respectively.

The Cobblers’ website says it is ‘likely’ that the duo will not feature against the Rams.

Bowie is on loan at Northampton from Fulham and has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals.

He spent last term with the Cobblers too and found the net on five occasions to help them gain promotion from League Two.

The 21-year-old, who started out at Raith Rovers, has been on the books at Fulham since 2020 but is yet to play for the first-team of the Premier League outfit.

He is due to return to Craven Cottage later this year and the Whites will have a decision to make on what to do with him next.

As for Springett, he linked up with Northampton in the January transfer window on loan from Norwich City to give them more depth in attacking areas.

The 21-year-old has played 17 times for the Canaries so far in his career but was given the green light to leave Carrow Road on a temporary basis earlier this winter to get some more game time.

He had a stint with the Cobblers’ upcoming opponents Derby last term to get some experience and made 11 outings for the Rams.

Jon Brady’s side head into this Saturday on the back of their 2-0 loss away at Wycombe Wanderers last time out.
