3 QPR players capable of stepping up to the Premier League in the future

QPR are currently fighting to maintain their place in the Championship but there’s no doubt that they boast some talents capable of playing at a higher level.

QPR currently sit 20th in the Championship table, a point clear of relegation. The final eight games will be huge for Marti Cifuentes’ side and after three games without a win, they’ll be determined to claim another three points soon.

It’s been a tough season for the R’s, but there remains bright sparks in their side. Some players have shown attributes that could see them find success at a higher level in the years to come too.

With that said, here are three QPR players capable of stepping up to the Premier League in the future…

Ilias Chair

Chair is now 26 but he’s proven time and time again why he’s a star at Championship level. After finding his feet again under Cifuentes, the winger has reminded everyone just what he’s capable of.

It could be that rather than jumping straight up to the Premier League, he perhaps moves to a more upwardly-mobile second-tier side who he then makes the step up with. It seems feasible, and Chair certainly has the talent to do so.

Sinclair Armstrong

Irish striker Armstrong has a bright future ahead of him and it would be no surprise if he was to play in the Premier League in the years to come. The 20-year-old is a fantastic athletic and physical presence up top and has ran Championship defenders ragged at times.

There’s no doubt some polishing of his game to be done. If the technical side of his game and end product can improve, he will be a real problem in the years to come.

Who is this?

Sam Field

Last but not least is defensive midfielder Field. He falls into a similar category to Chair, in that rather than rising directly to the Premier League, he’s good enough to join a top Championship side then step up with them.

The former West Brom man has 22 Premier League appearances to his name from his time at West Brom as a youngster but Field has the quality to go back up to the top-flight and become an established player.
