3 Leeds United players capable of stepping up to the Premier League in the future

Leeds United may have only been relegated last season, but after a change in the dugout and a change in personnel, there are players who will be chomping at the bit to play in the top flight for the first time.

Leeds United have been mightily impressive so far and look nailed on to secure a top six finish. They currently sit 1st in the table, but are level on points with Leicester City and just one point ahead of 3rd placed Ipswich Town.

Although several players have stayed put from their Premier League campaign last term, a handful of new faces have also made their debuts for the club this season, and some of those look readymade for the top flight.

Here are three players who could play and excel in the Premier League in the future.

Archie Gray

Leeds United fans will be hoping Archie Gray plays for his current club in the Premier League before anyone he turns out for anyone else. But given the attention surrounding the teenager he could be on his way out if a bid comes in which matches or exceeds the Whites’ valuation.

Reports this week state that the Championship side are braced for summer bids from several sides in the division above, so it’s not only us that think he can cut it at the highest level.

Georginio Rutter

The versatile attacker played just 11 times in the Premier League last season, starting just one of those and failing to find the net in each.

He is one who certainly deserves another shot and although he could be playing there with his current side, if they don’t achieve their goal of promotion don’t be surprised to see Georginio Rutter snapped up from sides in the top tier.

Ilia Gruev

The 23-year-old Bulgarian international has seamlessly made the transition from the Bundesliga to the Championship and could be one to go onto bigger and better things in the years ahead.

Ilia Gruev looks to have made the central midfield position his own at Elland Road, particularly since the turn of the year and his performances aren’t likely to have gone unnoticed.
