Watford prospect to return at the end of next month after latest loan update

Watford youngster Roraigh Browne has extended his loan at Walthamstow, as announced by the club’s official website.

Watford have given the green light to the goalkeeper to remain with the non-league side.

Browne, 18, linked up with the Isthmian League North Division in February and has since made five appearances, keeping two clean sheets.

The Hornets have confirmed he will now be staying there until the end of April.

The fact Walthamstow wanted to keep him shows that Browne has done an impressive job so far.

This extension suits all parties involved. His loan club retain their goalkeeper and he gets more experience to help boost his development before heading back to Watford.

Browne spent time on loan at Northwood earlier in this campaign and has also had a stint at Chertsey Town in the past.

He has been on the books at Watford since 2019 and is currently a second year scholar.

The stopper has featured for both their Under-21s and Under-18s and could be a key player for the Championship side in the future.

Since he has been away, there has been a managerial change at Vicarage Road.

Valerien Ismael was sacked by the Hertfordshire outfit after a poor run of form and has been replaced by former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on an interim basis.

He got off to an impressive start last time out with a 1-0 away win at Birmingham City courtesy of attacker Emmanuel Dennis’ goal.
