Leeds United braced for bids as Premier League clubs eye midfielder move

Leeds United are braced for bids for starlet Archie Gray with multiple Premier League clubs expected to come in, according to Football Insider.

Leeds United have seen 18-year-old Gray emerge as a first-team mainstay this season. The Durham-born talent had long been tipped for a breakthrough and he’s proven why he’s been so highly-rated in the Whites academy.

Gray has played 41 times across all competitions so far, playing mainly at right-back despite his natural role being in the middle of the park.

Unsurprisingly, such impressive displays at Championship level at such a young age have seen Gray draw attention from elsewhere across the campaign. Now, fresh claims have emerged over his future.

Football Insider reports that multiple Premier League clubs are keen on the young midfielder and Leeds United are braced for bids. A decision over his future will be Gray’s to make as interest looks set to be firmed up in the off-season.

Who is this?

Time will tell…

It feels like strong interest in Gray is inevitable this summer. Having played so regularly and played well, the teenager has seen his stock rise exponentially and big clubs will have taken notice.

Time will tell whether or not the admiration materialises into a transfer but for now, Leeds United does seem like the best place for Gray. He’s one of the first names on Daniel Farke’s teamsheet and in a bid to continue his progression, game time will be the absolute priority.

It could be that the Whites academy graduate can make the rise to the Premier League in Leeds United colours too.

Farke and co moved to the top of the Championship table with a win over Millwall on Sunday while Leicester City were in FA Cup action against Chelsea. It’s still in the Foxes’ hands, but the switch puts the pressure on Enzo Maresca and co not to drop points as Leeds United continue a fantastic 2024.
