Attacking decisions to make: West Brom team news and predicted XI to face Bristol City

The latest West Brom team news as Carlos Corberan’s side gear up to face Bristol City in the Championship.

West Brom are currently sat in 5th place in the Championship table as they eye promotion to the Premier League.

The Baggies won 4-1 against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium in their last outing.

They will be keen to keep their momentum going with a win on their own patch against the Robins this weekend.

West Brom team news

As per the Express & Star, Matt Phillips is ‘likely’ to miss out again despite returning to training. Andi Weimann can’t play against his parent club.

BirminghamWorld report Carlos Corberan is hoping that left-back Conor Townsend can return. Striker Daryl Dike is out of action.

Alex Palmer will keep his place between the sticks once again for West Brom ahead of Josh Griffiths.

The back four of Darnell Furlong, Kyle Bartley, Cedric Kipre and Adam Reach should stay the same. The latter has stepped in for Townsend in the last two outings, with Eric Pieters providing back-up.

Alex Mowatt and Okay Yokuslu have formed a strong partnership in the middle of the park for the Baggies . Nathaniel Chalobah and new boy Yann M’Vila offer some cover in that department on the bench.

Corberan has a host of different options to pick from heading further up the pitch but I think he will stick with Jed Wallace, Grady Diangana and Mikey Johnston for this Bristol City match. Tom Fellows and John Swift could come into his plans though.

Johnston, 24, has been in fine form since his winter arrival from Celtic and he will be eager to cause the Robins some problems.

Up front, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Brandon Thomas-Asante given the nod. The ex-Salford City man has scored 10 goals in all competitions this term.
