Charlton Athletic trial latest

Charlton aren’t the only club who have been taking a look at Fosu recently. He was on trial at Charlotte FC in the MLS last month, as per journalist Tom Bogert on X, with Dean Smith in charge of them these days.

The attacker is weighing up in the next move in the game and risks going a full campaign without a club if he doesn’t find one soon.

Fosu played for the Addicks earlier in his career from 2017 to 2019, having previously been on the books at Reading.

He went on to make 65 appearances for the London club and chipped in with 11 goals before Oxford United came calling.

The Ghana international, who has four caps under his belt, was then snapped up by Brentford in 2020.

Fosu played 63 matches for the Bees and found the net on five occasions, as well as having loan spells away from Thomas Frank’s side at Stoke City and Rotherham United in the Championship to get some game time.

Charlton have been eyeing a potential swoop for him as Nathan Jones looks to bolster his options. However, for now he won’t be linking up with them.

The Addicks have been in decent form recently in League One and are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Fleetwood Town.
