‘They could definitely drop points’ – Bradford City vs Mansfield Town prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Bradford City vs Mansfield Town prediction ahead of the League Two clash on Saturday.

Bradford City were beaten 2-0 at home by Forest Green Rovers last time out. The Bantams are sat in 13th place in the table.

They are seven points off the play-offs with 10 fixtures. Graham Alexander’s side also have games in-hand on a few teams above them.

As for Mansfield Town, they are positioned at the summit of League Two. They are hoping this is the year that they can finally claw themselves into League One.

Nigel Clough’s side have Stockport County and Wrexham breathing down their neck. The Stags were beaten 2-1 away at Tranmere Rovers earlier this week.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Bradford City remain in the mix for the play-offs in League Two but have been too inconsistent this season.

Their defeat to relegation threatened Forest Green Rovers was a disappointing one last time out. They went into that match full of confidence after winning 3-0 away at Accrington Stanley last weekend.

Mansfield Town are a well-drilled side under Nigel Clough and this will be a tricky test for the promotion chasers.

I can see this one being a close match with probably only one goal between them. I’m going to go for a narrow away win for the Stags.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“None of the top three have been able to take the title fight by the scruff of the neck and really nail down a place in the top three. Mansfield Town have had fantastic patches this season but this inconsistent run can’t be dragged on for too long.

“After slipping on a banana skin against Tranmere Rovers last time out, they’re gearing up for another game they could definitely drop points in.

“Bradford are a hot and cold side though and after the disappointing loss to Forest Green, they might struggle to pick themselves up for this big test. I say Mansfield bounce back to winning ways.”
