Hull City plan to send defender back out on loan

Hull City are planning to send Jack Leckie back on loan to Farsley Celtic before the end of the season, as detailed on their official club website.

Hull City have had to bring the youngster back from his stint in non-league for treatment following an injury.

Leckie, 20, joined Farsley Celtic last summer on a temporary deal and played six games for them earlier in this campaign in the National League North.

The Tigers have confirmed he is poised to head back to the West Yorkshire outfit at some point.

Getting Leckie back to Farsley Celtic would be a shrewd move by Hull. They are managed by former Tiger Clayton Donaldson these days.

The centre-back was given the green light to join the sixth tier outfit last August to get some experience under his belt.

He was on the books at Newcastle United from 2007 to 2020 and rose up through the academy ranks of the North East club, representing the Toon Army at various different youth levels.

Leckie then switched to fellow Premier League side Burnley four years ago before spending two campaigns at Turf Moor.

Hull then came calling in 2022 and he has since been a regular for the Championship team’s Under-21’s.

The Newcastle-born man is out of contract at the end of this term and the Tigers have a decision to make on his long-term future.

In the meantime, he will be keen to get back up to full fitness before potentially getting a string of matches at Farsley before the summer.

Hull have a two-week break from the action now and are heading off to Turkey for a training camp. They then have fixtures against Stoke City at home and Leeds United away.
