‘Take time’ – Fabrizio Romano shares update regarding future of Hull City loan man

Liverpool have made ‘no decision’ regarding the long-term future of Hull City loan man Fabio Carvalho, according to reporter Fabrizio Romano.

Hull City swooped to land the attacking midfielder on a loan deal running until the end of the season in the January transfer window.

Carvalho, 21, is wanted by the Tigers on a permanent basis this summer, as per i News.

In this latest update regarding the player’s situation, Romano has told CaughtOffside: “I can also guarantee no decision has been made on Fabio Carvalho’s future, and talks have not even started.”

He added: “Hull are super happy with the player since signing him on loan, but I’m sure this is not something you decide now; also Liverpool are still waiting for new director, new manager…so there are too many factors before deciding on the player’s future, it will take time.”

Hull’s chances of bringing back Carvalho at the end of this campaign are likely to depend on what league they are in next term. They are currently eyeing promotion from the Championship and are outside the play-offs on goal difference behind Norwich City.

Eyebrows were raised when the Tigers managed to land Carvalho earlier this winter and he has been a hit for the East Yorkshire outfit so far, scoring four goals in the league against Sunderland, Southampton, West Brom and Leicester City.

The former England and Portugal youth international is due to return to Liverpool later this year and his situation with the Premier League giants will depend on who their new manager is.

Carvalho was snapped up by his parent club in 2022 after catching their eye at Fulham. He scored 12 goals in 44 games for the Whites and helped them win the second tier title under Marco Silva.

The prospect played 21 matches in all competitions for Liverpool last season under Jurgen Klopp and found the net three times.

He then spent time on loan at RB Leipzig but struggled to make an impact in Germany. His switch to Hull has given him the platform to play every week and build his fitness back up.

The Tigers would obviously love to have him on a long-term basis but as Romano as alluded to, nothing has been decided yet at this stage.
