Leeds United open to summer bids for Jesse Marsch signing, report claims

Leeds United plan to listen to bids for defender Rasmus Kristensen this summer, according to a report from Football Insider.

Leeds United are targeting an immediate return to the Premier League and currently sit 2nd in the table and three points behind league leaders Leicester City.

The summer transfer window promises to be an important one for Daniel Farke’s side, regardless as to whether they secure promotion or remain in the Championship.

One player who looks to have potentially played his last game for the Whites is defender Kristensen. Following the club’s relegation he was loaned out to Italian giants Roma and he has made 27 appearances for the Serie A side since joining last summer.

Football Insider now report he has been deemed surplus to requirements at Elland Road and are prepared to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, amongst other loaned out players.

No other loan players are named in the report. However, it seems Leeds United’s stance is that they are happy with the squad of players currently at their disposal and perhaps won’t entertain those out on loan returning at the end of the campaign.

The best solution for all parties

The emergence of Archie Gray at right-back has already seen club legend Luke Ayling depart the club with no view to return, and the same could now happen with Kristensen.

He finds himself out on loan and doesn’t seem to be part of the first-team plans under Farke. Therefore, they have came to the best solution for all parties by listening to offers.

The player will find a new home to play his football on a consistent basis, whilst Leeds United can cash in and fund their transfer spending in the summer window. It also frees up space on the wage bill with the Danish international likely a high earner having signed in the top flight.
