QPR vs Middlesbrough: 5 players who could dictate the game tomorrow

QPR vs Middlesbrough takes place at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon and here, we pick out five players who could dictate the game.

QPR come into this clash with Middlesbrough looking to put some more distance between themselves and the drop. After drawing with West Brom in the week, they sit a point clear of the bottom three and 19th in the Championship table.

Boro meanwhile are up in 12th, though they’re unlikely to make a late charge for the play-offs or get dragged into the relegation fight. They picked up a solid 3-1 win over Norwich City in the week.

Now, ahead of this weekend’s game, we pick out five players who could dictate QPR vs Middlesbrough

Lucas Andersen

Andersen has been a big hit since joining QPR and he’ll likely hold down the starting spot in attacking midfield tomorrow. He’s managed three assists in six Championship games so far and will be keen to impress again in his third consecutive start.

Emmanuel Latte Lath

Latte Lath hasn’t had the easiest first season with Middlesbrough but he has still managed a respectable return of eight goals in 25 outings. His most recent strike came in the Norwich City win last time out, se he’ll be keen to find some form and gain momentum over the latter stages of the campaign.

Steve Cook

When Cook plays, QPR are a much better side. He offers a real composure at the back when on the ball and in defensive actions and his experience is of great value to Marti Cifuentes’ side.

He put in another impressive performance against Middlesbrough, even nearly finding the back of the net with an overheard kick.

Lukas Engel

Engel is a real all-action player on the left-hand side and the attacking presence he offers isn’t matched by Luke Thomas. After his strong midweek showing, he’ll be keen to hold onto his place in the team and put in another influential performance.

He was on the scoresheet in the win and now has two goals and three assists to his name this season.

Ilias Chair

Last but not least is arguably QPR’s most influential player, Moroccan playmaker Chair.

He’s been in fantastic form in Cifuentes’ turnaround in West London and with a start on the left-hand side likely, he’ll be hoping to be amongst the goals when Middlesbrough come to town.
