Norwich City’s position on permanent exit for Celtic loan star emerges

Norwich City will look to sell Adam Idah this summer following his loan at Celtic, according to a report from Football Insider.

Norwich City boss David Wagner showed a huge show faith in Idah in the first half of the season. But with seven goals in 34 appearances for the Canaries, a loan deal soon followed.

He made the move to Scottish giants Celtic in January and has hit the ground running in the Scottish Premiership. So far in seven appearances he has scored five goals and registered one assist.

Previous reports state that Idah is open to making his loan deal at Celtic Park permanent this summer, and the likelihood of this coming to fruition just took another twist.

A new report from Football Insider claims that Norwich City will look to sell the striker upon his return from his current loan deal. However, it is unlikely Celtic would be his next destination as their deal doesn’t include an option to buy and the Championship side’s asking price will be out of their spending capacity.

Surprising stance from Norwich City

Considering the noise surrounding the future of star attacker Josh Sargent and possible interest from the Premier League, it comes as a surprise to see them wish to cash in on Idah.

Although he hasn’t particularly impressed during the season at Carrow Road, his form in Scotland has proven he can cut it and can fulfil some of his high potential. Therefore, he perhaps should be given another chance.

But whether Norwich City are willing to offer him this is another thing altogether. If they can get a significant fee for the 23-year-old and a bid comes in which matches or exceeds their valuation, given he is out of favour at his parent club, they will likely sanction an exit. But this could be a decision they come to regret.
