QPR are let the youngster head out the exit door again to get some more experience under his belt.

Woodman will benefit from getting some regular senior minutes over the course of the next four weeks at Southend as opposed to playing development football at QPR.

He joined the Hoops back in 2021 from fellow London club Crystal Palace. The centre-back rose up through the academy ranks of the Eagles and was a regular for them at various different youth levels before he departed.

The prospect is yet to play for the Hoops but did have a successful spell at Dulwich Hamlet in the last campaign.

His contract expires at the end of this term and the Championship outfit have a decision to make on his long-term future. In the meantime, his focus will be on impressing with Southend and helping them rise up the table.

QPR will be keeping tabs on his progress from afar and they are back in action this evening with a home clash against promotion chasing West Brom as they look to keep their momentum going.

Marti Cifuentes’ side have been in decent form of late and won 2-1 away at Leicester City last weekend after goals by Ilias Chair and Sinclair Armstrong. They are sat in 20th place in the table and are above the drop zone on goal difference.
