Manchester United loan man has played his last game for EFL side as update emerges

Maxi Oyedele has returned to Manchester United from his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers, as detailed in a report by the Daily Mail.

Forest Green Rovers swooped to land the youngster on a temporary basis in the January transfer window.

Oyedele, 19, has since made four appearances in all competitions for the League Two strugglers.

However, in this latest update regarding his situation by the Daily Mail, he is likely to have played his last game for the Gloucestershire outfit, even though the Red Devils haven’t officially recalled him.

Forest Green Rovers loanee heads back

Forest Green landed Oyedele to add more competition and depth to their midfield department.

He was given the green light to leave Manchester United on a deal until the end of the season to get some experience under his belt in the Football League.

His time with Rovers hasn’t worked out though which is a shame for both the club and the player. It is now likely that he will end this term with the Red Devils’ development squad before they face a decision on what to do with him next ahead of the next campaign.

The Poland youth international, who qualifies for them through his mother, played for Burnley’s academy before moving to Old Trafford in 2012.

He has since risen up through the ranks of the Premier League giants and has been a regular for them at various different youth levels.

The teenager had a spell at Altrincham in the National League in the last campaign and fired four goals in 12 outings for the fifth tier outfit.

Forest Green were hoping he could find similar form with them after signing him earlier this winter as they look to avoid relegation. However, he hasn’t been able to make an impact.

Steve Cotterill’s side are in action this weekend with a home clash against play-off chasing Walsall.
