Striker dilemma: QPR team news and predicted XI to face West Brom

The latest QPR team news as Marti Cifuentes’ side gear up to face West Brom in the Championship.

QPR head into their upcoming Championship clash on the back of their impressive 2-1 away win at Leicester City last time out.

Ilias Chair and Sinclair Armstrong scored their goals at the King Power Stadium against the Foxes.

The R’s are now 19th in the table and are above the drop zone on goal difference with 11 games left to play.

QPR team news

Midfielder Jack Colback is still suspended. He serves the first of his two-game ban against Leicester and has one more fixture to sit out of.

Starting XI

Begovic

Dunne

Cook

Clarke-Salter

Paal

Hayden

Field

Willock

Chair

Andersen

Dykes

Asmir Begovic has turned into a brilliant addition this season for QPR and his experience and calmness is helpful to their survival hopes.

The back four of Jimmy Dunne, Steve Cook, Jake Clarke-Salter and Kenneth Paal should stay the same after the win at Leicester. The quartet dealt with the Foxes’ attacking threats well.

In midfield, Isaac Hayden has made a positive impression since joining on loan from Newcastle United in the January window.

Sam Field stepped in for Colback last time out and should start again in the the middle of the park.

Chris Willock, Chair and Lucas Andersen may be given the nod to play in behind the striker once against by Cifuentes. However, Joe Hodge and Paul Smyth provide other options if need be.

Up front, Armstrong will be pushing for a start after his goal against Leicester so there is a bit of selection dilemma in this area. However, I think Lydon Dykes may start from the off.
