‘Another impressive result’ – QPR vs West Brom prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their QPR vs West Brom prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Wednesday night.

QPR come into this challenging midweek clash with West Brom looking to continue their rise away from the Championship relegation zone. Three consecutive wins has put the R’s up to 19th, though they’re still level on points with 22nd placed Stoke City.

Marti Cifuentes has led a fantastic turnaround at Loftus Road and guiding the West Londoners to an unlikely survival would put him among contenders for the second-tier’s manager of the season.

West Brom meanwhile remain in a good position to earn a spot in this season’s play-offs. They sit 5th in the Championship table, where they have spent much of this campaign.

The Baggies have lost just one of their last seven but they haven’t been able to patch together consecutive wins in that run. After defeating Coventry City last time out, they’ll be hoping to make it two in a row here.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

James Ray

“This is going to be an interesting game. QPR have serious momentum behind them but they’re in for another big test with West Brom coming to town on Wednesday night.

“The Baggies have been strong of late but their inability to get a proper winning run going is keeping the chasing pack in touch. And, a win could be hard to come by again at Loftus Road.

“Cifuentes’ side are riding a real wide of momentum at the moment and that win against Leicester City highlighted the sheer spirit running through the squad. I think that will help them pick up another impressive result here.

“I’m not sure they’ll make it four wins in a row, but I’ll say QPR get a good point in this one.”

QPR vs West Brom prediction: 1-1

Harry Mail

QPR will be full of confidence after their impressive 2-1 away win at table toppers Leicester City last time out.

I fancy the Hoops to stay up this season and Marti Cifuentes has done a decent job in charge of them.

However, I think West Brom might just edge them here. The Baggies are a well-drilled outfit under the guidance of Carlos Corberan and are fighting for a place in the play-offs.

They grinded out an important win over Coventry City last time out and I can see them doing the same here.”

QPR vs West Brom prediction: 1-2
