Norwich City prospect leaves the club for Premier League outfit

Norwich City goalkeeper Dylan Thompson has joined Tottenham Hotspur, reports Alan Nixon.

Norwich City’s youngster has left Carrow Road for a new challenge in the Premier League.

The teenager has been on trial with Spurs over recent times and appears to have done enough to earn himself a deal.

In this latest update regarding his situation by reporter Nixon on his Patreon page, Ange Postecoglou’s side have ‘snapped’ him up on a permanent basis.

Norwich City exit

It is a blow for Norwich to lose Thompson at such a young age. He could have had a bright future ahead of him at Carrow Road and may have challenged for their number one spot down the line.

However, it would have been hard for the Championship club to stand in the way of him moving to a top flight outfit.

His switch to Spurs is a chance for him to join the academy ranks of a side who are aiming to be in the Champions League next term.

Thompson faces more of a battle to break into their first-team then he would have at Norwich though.

The Canaries currently have Angus Gunn as their first choice ‘keeper followed by George Long as back-up.

David Wagner’s side are aiming for a place in the play-offs as they chase down promotion from the second tier in this campaign. They are currently sat in 7th place and are a point behind Hull City in 6th.

They won 1-0 at home to Sunderland over the weekend with attacker Josh Sargent on the scoresheet. The East Anglian outfit are back in action on Wednesday with an away trip to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough as they look to keep their momentum going.
