Northampton Town vs Charlton Athletic: 5 players who could dictate the game

Northampton Town take on Charlton Athletic at home in League One this weekend.

Northampton Town head into their upcoming League One clash on the back of a 2-0 away win at Burton Albion last time out. Marc Leonard and Mitch Pinnock scored for them against the Brewers.

As for Charlton, they surprised many with their 2-1 victory at Derby County. Alfie May and Karoy Anderson got on the scoresheet for the Addicks at Pride Park.

Ahead of the game, we look at five players who could dictate the upcoming match…

Marc Leonard

He has been a hit on loan at Northampton from Brighton and Hove Albion this season. The Scotsman is one of their most prized assets and creates a lot from the heart of midfield.

Kieran Bowie

Like Leonard, Bowie is also on loan with Jon Brady’s side and is due to go back this summer. He was allowed to join the Cobblers again from Fulham on a temporary basis last summer and injects useful pace into their ranks going forward.

Karoy Anderson

He has a bright future ahead of him at Charlton and is a name to keep an eye out for. Nathan Jones has showed a lot of trust in him over recent weeks and he scored at Derby.

Alfie May

The 30-year-old has scored 21 goals in all competitions already in this campaign, 17 of which have come in the league. He joined the Addicks last year from fellow third tier outfit Cheltenham Town and has carried on his goal scoring exploits.

Who is this?

Conor Coventry

Charlton signed him in January to bolster their midfield options. He should arguably be playing at a higher level and dropped down two leagues from West Ham in the top flight to link up with his current club.
