Bristol City have let the stopper head out the exit door on a temporary basis.

Bristol City loan exit

Wiles-Richards’ exit suits all parties involved and will help him get some more experience to boost his development before he eventually heads back to Bristol City.

He has been on the books of the Championship side for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy ranks.

The ‘keeper has been a regular for the Robins at various youth levels over recent times and has had loan spells away in the past at Bath City and Gloucester City.

However, he is yet to make a senior appearance for his current club and remains down the pecking order in their goalkeeping department.

Wiles-Richards’ contract at Ashton Gate expires at the end of this campaign and they have a big decision to make regarding his long-term future. The club do hold an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months which reduces the risk of losing him for nothing.

He has temporarily left behind a Bristol City team who are back in action this weekend with a game against Cardiff City at home.

Liam Manning’s side have been inconsistent over recent times and are sat in 12th place in the table. They are 11 points off the play-offs with 12 games left to play.
