‘Another big result’ – Millwall vs Watford prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Millwall vs Watford prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday.

Millwall won 2-1 away at Southampton last time out in the Championship. Japhet Tanganga and Zian Flemming were on the scoresheet for them against the Saints.

The Lions have brought back Neil Harris as they look to avoid dropping into League One. They are a point above the drop zone.

As for Watford, they are sat in 11th place in the table. The Hornets have seen their form slump over recent times.

Valerien Ismael, who joined them last summer, is under pressure to start getting more results. His side are 11 points off the play-offs.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Millwall have the new manager bounce and will be full of confidence after their win away at Southampton

Neil Harris is a popular figure at The Den and will be keen to keep the Lions’ momentum going now as they look to stay up.

As for Watford, they have been in dire form over recent times and their hopes of making the top six this term are fading away fast.

“They have won only once in their last nine games in all competitions and that was against bottom of the table Rotherham United and I can see them losing again this weekend.”

“With Watford faltering and Millwall on a high, I can see this ending in a home win. Another result here will have the Lions’ move for Harris looking like a masterstroke after the struggles under Joe Edwards.

“He’s been brought in to galvanise and motivate a group lacking confidence and from first viewing, he looks to have done exactly that. The Den should be a lively atmosphere as a result, and I can see Watford struggling.

“I’ll say Millwall claim another big result in this one.”
