‘A real test’ – Leicester City vs QPR prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Leicester City vs QPR prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester City come into this weekend’s clash with QPR off the back of an impressive FA Cup triumph on Tuesday night. The Foxes defeated Bournemouth in extra-time thanks to a fantastic Abdul Fatawu strike, setting up a quarter-final clash with Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca’s side have seen their lead at the top of the Championship table shrink though. Back-to-back defeats mean Leeds United and Ipswich Town have cut the gap to six points.

QPR meanwhile have clambered out of the relegation zone for the first time under Marti Cifuentes. They’ve now lost just one of their last seven Championship games but still have plenty of work to do in the survival fight.

They’re still level on points with Stoke City but amid their recent form, survival is a real possibility.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

James Ray

“The league table might not suggest it, but this is a real test for Leicester City. QPR have put in some really spirited performances of late and Cifuentes has them playing some good stuff.

“With the wind in their sails and Leicester losing back-to-back league games, they’ll be hopeful of springing a shock here. That said though, the midweek win over Bournemouth shows just what Leicester are capable of, and I expect them to put in another good performance here.

“I think the visitors will give them a run for their money, but I’m going for a home win.”

This won’t be an east game for Leicester City because QPR have started to pick up some wins recently. The Hoops have risen out of the bottom three and will be in confident mood.

However, the Foxes should have too much for their upcoming opponents if they play to the standard they know they are capable of.

Enzo Maresca’s side are top of the table for a reason and need to grind out another three points here to keep their push for the title well on track.”
