£20m+ valuation made as Ipswich Town star draws further transfer interest

Ipswich Town star Leif Davis is also of interest to Nottingham Forest but the Tractor Boys are likely to value him over £20m, a report from TWTD has said.

Ipswich Town have seen Davis become one of their most influential players since his arrival from Leeds United in the summer of 2022. After starring in League One, he’s thrived in the step up to Championship football too.

The 24-year-old has been a mainstay at left-back, returning 14 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. It’s seen him highlighted as one of the division’s best full-backs, and other clubs have taken note recently.

TalkSPORT claimed earlier this week that Newcastle United and West Ham were both keen on the creative left-back. Now, another admirer has emerged.

In their coverage of the interest, TWTD adds that Nottingham Forest are another side believed to have shown interest in the Ipswich Town ace.

Not only that, but their report adds that the Tractor Boys are likely to value the former Leeds United talent in excess of £20m. His current contract runs until the summer of 2025, though there is a 12-month extension option there to be triggered.

Holding onto Davis

Of course, it remains to be seen if the interest from any of Newcastle United, West Ham or Nottingham Forest advances this summer. But, regardless of how Ipswich Town’s promotion fight ends, they’ll want to retain Davis’ services.

His importance to Kieran McKenna’s side is paramount and losing him would leave a big gap in the side to fill. You have to believe that promotion to the top-flight would increase their hopes of holding onto him, with clubs potentially looking to offer him a step up if Town come up short.

Nonetheless, a price tag in excess of £20m shows Ipswich will not be letting Davis go on the cheap. It’s a hefty asking price but given his contract situation and importance to the side, the Portman Road outfit are well within their rights to slap a big valuation on the left-back amid interest from elsewhere.
