Bradford City man to miss Notts County clash due to injury

Bradford City boss Graham Alexander has said Matty Platt will be out of action again this weekend.

Bradford City face a home clash against Notts County on Saturday in League Two.

Platt, 26, will have to sit out again against the Magpies due to his hamstring injury.

Alexander has provided this update on his situation, as per a report by the Telegraph and Argus: “He’s had a little twinge in his hamstring. It’s disappointing because we thought we’d got away with it for a little bit but, unfortunately, he’s going to be missing for a couple of games. Fingers crossed we get him back quickly.”

Bradford City injury blow

Platt’s contract at Bradford expires at the end of this season and he is due to become a free agent this summer. They have a decision to make regarding his long-term future at the club.

He has made 35 appearances in all competitions this term, 27 of which have come in the league, and has chipped in with three goals.

The Merseyside-born man started his career at Blackburn Rovers and rose up through the academy of the Championship side.

He went on to play five times for their first-team and was also shipped out on loan at Accrington Stanley and Southport to get some experience under his belt.

Barrow landed him on a temporary basis during the 2019/20 season and he helped them win promotion to the fourth tier under their former boss Ian Evatt before the Cumbrian side made his move permanent that summer.

Bradford then snapped him up in 2022 on a two-year deal and he has since been a key player at Valley Parade.

However, Alexander’s men will have to make do without him for the time being as he fights back from injury. The Bantams’ upcoming opponents Notts County lost 4-3 at home to Sutton United last time out.
