Ipswich Town are in an electrifying battle for automatic promotion having excelled since promotion from League One under Kieran McKenna.

Ipswich Town have won their past four matches and sit level on points with 2nd place Leeds United. The main focus will of course be on returning to the Championship top two, but they will also almost certainly have an eye on their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Tractor boys are likely to see a number of players head for the exit doors at the end of the season regardless of what division they are in, some of which might have already played their last game for the club.

With that in mind, we look at three players who might fall into that category…

Idris El-Mizouni

El-Mizouni is currently on his second loan with Leyton Orient as he kicks on away from Portman Road. There is a 12-month option to extend his deal this summer but even then, the chance could be taken to cash in before moving closer to his contract expiry.

If the chance arises to make a permanent exit when his latest loan ends, it could be a good opportunity fr the midfielder to take.

Sone Aluko

Aluko has made just seven appearances this season, only one of which was in league action and was a cameo lasting just two minutes. Despite his limited game time though, he still plays an influential role off the pitch.

The 35-year-old Nigerian winger signed for the Tractor Boys in 2021 and featured predominantly in his debut season, but has since seen his game time dwindle down to the point of only making four matchday squads in the Championship this season. With his deal up this summer, he might not be seen in action for Ipswich Town again.

Who is this?

Dominic Ball

Signed as a free agent at the beginning of last season, it hasn’t quite worked out at Ipswich Town quite the way Ball would have liked.

The 28-year-old made just 19 appearances in all competitions during the last campaign and has made even less this term with just 14 to his name so far. Also out of contract at the end of June, Ball hasn’t made any of the last six matchday squads and is unlikely to be thrown in now at the business end of the season with Ipswich sat 3rd in the Championship table.
