‘No-brainer’ – Hull City new boy has say on winter switch

Hull City loan man Noah Ohio has said it was a ‘no-brainer’ to join the club in January.

Hull City swooped to land the striker on a temporary basis from Standard Liege.

Ohio, 21, is due to return to his parent club at the end of the season.

He has said, as per a report by HullLive“The manager, the style of play and the owners made a big impression on me and how involved they are. Any young player Hull City want, when they have the conversation they will be sold immediately because there’s a clear project and clear plan of what they want to do.

“The way we play it’s clear to see and the manager’s experience with young players, he’s able to get the best out of them. It’s a no-brainer to come here.”

Hull brought in Ohio to add more competition and depth to their striking department. He provides cover for the injured Liam Delap and competes with the likes of Billy Sharp and Aaron Connolly for a place up top.

The former England and Holland youth international scored the winner for the Tigers away at Rotherham United earlier this month but hasn’t made the squad over the past couple of fixtures against Southampton and West Brom.

He will be hoping to get back into Liam Rosenior’s plans ahead of the game at Preston North End this weekend.

Ohio has been on the books at Manchester United, Manchester City and RB Leipzig in the past.

The youngster signed for Standard Liege in 2022 and fired five goals in 29 matches for the Belgian top flight outfit in the last campaign. He then scored once in 16 during the first-half of this term.

He played for Leipzig for three years before his move to his current club and had loan spells from the Bundesliga side at Vitesse and Austria Wien to get some experience.

Hull are inside the top six by three points as they look to gain promotion to the Premier League.
