The 3 Huddersfield Town players who may not play for the club again

Huddersfield Town have a relegation fight to remain focused on, but Andre Breitenreiter and co should also have an eye on the summer transfer window.

Huddersfield Town, regardless of the division they will be in next season, will see the need to clear the decks of their side. Some of those heading away from the John Smith’s Stadium may well have played their last game for the club.

Considering that, we look at three players who may not play for the Terriers again…

Jordan Rhodes

Cult hero Rhodes could do it all during his first stint with Huddersfield Town between 2009 and 2012. In 148 appearances, Rhodes scored 86 goals and registered 14 assists, then re-signing for the club from Sheffield Wednesday in 2021.

Rhodes has scored 10 goals and recorded three assists in this time, though he’s currently on loan at League One side Blackpool. In 25 games this season, he has scored 15 goals and three assists. His contract runs out this summer and he could be on the move.

Connor Mahoney

27-year-old winger Mahoney signed for the Terriers from Londoners Millwall in the summer of 2022. His time in West Yorkshire has seen the Blackburn-born wideman make just 11 appearances.

He is currently out on loan at League Two side Gillingham, where he has featured 27 times for the Gills this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. His two-year deal is due up this summer and given the low number of appearances for Town, it looks like his time might be up at the end of this season.

Who is this?

Aaron Rowe

Londoner Rowe was signed by Huddersfield Town from Leyton Orient in February 2018. His time at the club has seen loans out to Boston United, Bromley, and Stockport County, and he is currently with League Two side Crewe Alexandra.

His contract with Huddersfield Town ends in June. With this in mind, and with just 27 appearances for the Terriers, a move away from the club could well be on the cards.
