FANS OF THE WEEKEND: Wycombe Wanderers
The Chairmen came out in force for what they call the M40 derby against Oxford United, 1,700 made the trip up the road to see their team sneak a 2-1 win. They had a little luck, Oxford skied a penalty in the very last minute but it was a fighting performance for the new leaders of League Two.
All the credit deservedly goes Gareth Ainsworth’s way, they were dreadful last season but they’ve been transformed by him this season and they should be challenging for promotion this season. The fans stuck with them through the hard times, noted by them winning this award towards the end of last season and they have earned the success they are now enjoying.
