South Yorkshire Round-Up – 1/11/14

Bradford City 1-2 Doncaster Rovers

3 points come as a welcome relief for Paul Dickov’s Doncaster Rovers who hadn’t won since the beginning of October. But, Rovers had to do it the hard way after Jon Stead fired the hosts in front on the stroke of half time. The loanee turned on the edge of the area and then fired a sweet left footed shot into the top of Sam Johnstone’s net. However, despite further chances from the home side, it was the visitors who struck next. Reece Wabara bundled in a cross from the right hand side, levelling the scores.

It was the South Yorkshire who eventually stole all 3 points. With 20 minutes left to play, Curtis Main brought down a tough pass before hitting the ball as clean as a whistle to fly into the top corner of Pickford’s net. Bradford’s loss means they have only secured one point from their last five games.
