Millwall caretaker boss gives injury update on Joe Bryan ahead of Watford clash

Millwall left-back Joe Bryan is set for a scan on an injury sustained in the 2-1 defeat vs Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Millwall lost 2-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, with the Lions having drawn one and lost one under the guidance of caretaker boss Adam Barrett.

The Lions have now won just one of their last six and remain without a manager ahead of their weekend clash away at Watford; Millwall sit in 16th ahead of that one, whilst the Hornets are in 15th.

And it looks like Millwall will be without a key player in Bryan for this one. Barrett spoke to South London Press about the 30-year-old, who was withdrawn after 52 minutes of the game vs Blackburn.

Barrett said:

“He went off and it was very sore. Everyone saw him hobble off. He will go for a scan this morning and we’ll find out the extent of what it is. Until we have the scan result, we won’t know how long he will be missing for.”

Bryan signed as a free agent in the summer and has since featured 10 times in the Championship for Millwall, scoring once.

Who is the current manager of Leicester City?

A big miss for Millwall…

It’s a tough spell for Millwall right now. They’re sort of waiting in limbo to find out who their new boss will be, with some pretty drastic changes to the playing style expected.

So for Barrett, it’s simply a case of getting through the next however many games with as many points as possible. And Watford is another tough test with the Hornets having won their last two, so not having Bryan is certainly a blow.

It looks like he could potentially be out for a while and so Millwall may have to cope without the experienced left-back for a few games yet.

Millwall vs Watford kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
