The72’s writers offer their Oxford United vs Wycombe Wanderers prediction ahead of the League One clash on Saturday afternoon.

Oxford United come into this weekend’s game looking to get back on track after a midweek defeat to Wigan Athletic. Liam Manning’s side fell to a 2-0 loss, leaving them four points behind league leaders Portsmouth with a game in hand.

It’s been a great start to the campaign for the U’s and they’ll be keen to get back to winning ways in the M40 derby here.

Wycombe Wanderers also fell to a loss in midweek, losing 4-2 at home to Bolton Wanderers. It marked the first time the Trotters had won at Home Park and leaves the Chairboys 10th in the table.

Matt Bloomfield’s sure have been fairly inconsistent of late, winning two, losing three and drawing one of their last six in League One.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

James Ray

“Both Oxford and Wycombe will be determined to get back on track after their midweek defeats and with bragging rights up for grabs, the two sides will be more than up for this weekend’s clash.

“The U’s have been fantastic so far this season and I am leaning towards a home victory. Wycombe won’t be an easy game though as on their day, they’ve shown they can be a real threat this season.

“I think we’re in for a tasty game here, but Oxford should have the edge.”
