‘A reality check’ – Blackburn Rovers vs Swansea City prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Blackburn Rovers vs Swansea City prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday.

Blackburn Rovers host Swansea City in the Championship this weekend, with Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Rovers looking to secure a fourth-straight win in the league.

Following four-straight defeats, Rovers have won their last three to move up into 11th place of the Championship table, having beaten Millwall 2-1 away from home on Tuesday night.

Swansea City meanwhile have lost their last two after a run of four-straight wins. Michael Duff’s side now sit in 19th after a 1-0 defeat at home vs Watford on Tuesday.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Luke Phelps

“Blackburn are really starting to find form now. I was positive that they’d turn their fortunes around and whilst it’s still early in the season, Rovers will certainly have the top six in their minds now.

“Swansea have had a couple of poor results and maybe it’s a bit of a reality check after their positive run before the break. But they’ve been tough games, and this is another.

“Blackburn’s home form hasn’t been great so far but they’ll be counting on making Ewood a fortress if they want a play-off place, and I think they’ll get a win here.”

Who is the current manager of Leicester City?

James Ray

“Despite seeing their winning run ended with two defeats, Swansea City shouldn’t be too disheartened yet. They’ve shown what they’re capable of, it’s now just about recapturing that momentum and pushing up the table again.

“Blackburn are starting to gather steam though. It feels as though things are coming together for them after some disjointed displays and Tomasson’s starting XI is becoming more settled.

“Either side could take all three points here with both fairly unpredictable but on current form, I’m backing the hosts.”
