Bradford City loan forward to local non-league side

Bradford City striker Dylan Loumbi has joined Farsley Celtic on loan, as announced by the non-league side.

Bradford City have let the youngster head out the exit door on a temporary basis. The League Two club will be hoping he can get plenty of game time under his belt in non-league.

Loumbi, 19, has joined the National League North outfit on a one-month deal. His new team are managed by former Bantams striker Clayton Donaldson.

Their chairman Paul Barthorpe has told their website: “Dylan is an exciting young striker who loves to score goals. He fits our strategy of signing and loaning in young and hungry players from teams higher in the footballing pyramid and will provide us with extra options up front.”

Bradford loan departure

Loumbi has risen up through the ranks at Bradford and will be looking to break into their first-team in the future.

His switch to Farsley is an opportunity for him to show what he can do in the sixth tier and boost his development ahead of his eventual return to Valley Parade.

The Bantams handed him his first professional contract last year and he was the club’s top scorer for the U19’s during the 2021/22 season to help them win the EFL Youth Alliance North East title.

Loumbi was given the green light to join Stocksbridge Park Steels last term and was also part of Bradford’s senior squad against Newport County in the last campaign under former boss Mark Hughes.

He temporarily leaves behind a Bantams side who were beaten 4-1 away at MK Dons last night. They are in the hunt for a new permanent manager following Hughes’ exit earlier this month.

Kevin McDonald is in caretaker charge but it remains to be seen whether he will be handed the job. Next up is a trip to Sutton United this weekend.
