Blackpool will make checks on Ollie Norburn ahead of their game this evening, as detailed on their official club website.
Blackpool are back in League One action tonight with a home clash against Cheltenham Town. They drew 1-1 away at Oxford United last time out.
Norburn, 30, made the switch to Bloomfield Road over the summer. He sat out of the game at the Kassam Stadium last Saturday with a neck problem.
The Seasiders’ website says he will be ‘assessed’ ahead of the match against the Robins. In other team news, Kyle Joseph, Jordan Gabriel and Matty Virtue remain sidelined.
Blackpool injury latest
Norburn was a smart signing by Blackpool and has injected more experience into their ranks. He has played 12 times for Neil Critchley’s side so far this season.
He has made over 350 appearances in his career to date. The Bolton-born man has also made four caps for the Grenada national team.
Norburn has had spells at Leicester City, Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Guiseley, Macclesfield Town, Tranmere Rovers and Shrewsbury Town.
He then had a two year stint at Peterborough United before his move to Blackpool but decided to cut ties with the Posh for a new challenge.
Critchley’s men are sat 7th in the table and are two points off the play-offs after their draw against Oxford.
The Tangerines were relegated from the Championship in the last campaign and are aiming to achieve an immediate promotion back from the third tier.
Tashan Oakley-Boothe came in for Norburn last time out and the former Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City man will be ready to step up again if his teammate isn’t ready to play yet against Cheltenham.
