‘Starting to come together’ – Leicester City vs Bristol City prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Leicester City vs Bristol City prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday.

Leicester City welcome a former boss of theirs in Nigel Pearson to the King Power this weekend, with the 60-year-old now in charge of Bristol City.

Pearson won promotion with Leicester on two occasions; from League One in 2009 and then from the Championship in 2014, having had spells with Derby County, OH Leuven, and Watford before arriving at Bristol City in early 2021.

Enzo Maresca is now the man in charge at Leicester City. His side claimed an impressive 2-0 win at Norwich City in midweek to move into 2nd place of the Championship table, having won six of their opening seven now.

Bristol City meanwhile sit in 7th after an impressive campaign so far, with the Robins unbeaten in four in the league after a confident 4-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in the week.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Luke Phelps

“This should be a very interesting game, and for Leicester City, it’ll be a real test of their promotion credentials.

“The likes of Norwich can be inconsistent, but Bristol City are a typically sturdy Pearson side who will be right up for being the underdogs this weekend.

“Their win over Plymouth Argyle suggests that they’re really starting to come together this season, but at the same time, Leicester seem to be making positive strides of their own.

“This should be a really interesting game, and I’m going to back the Robins to claim an impressive point on the road.”

Who is this?

James Ray

“Bristol City may well cause some problems for Leicester City. They’ve shown in recent weeks just what their capable of and when their opponent isn’t on their game, they have the talent to dismantle them just as they did with Plymouth on Tuesday.

“A trip to the King Power is another challenge altogether though and if anyone has the talent in their ranks to break down this resolute Robins side, I think it’s the Foxes.

“It could be a close one but I’m going to back the visitors to take all three points.”

Leicester City vs Bristol City prediction: 1-0
